Day 56 Pirates Cove Hurricane Ida

Homes along the Tenn-Tom

We are still on a holding pattern sitting here at Pirates Cove Marina, in central Alabama waiting for Tropical Depression “IDA” to either hit the panhandle, the west coast of Florida or fizzle out. Until this sorts itself out we will probably just sit on hold here at this marina until next Wed morning and watch what is projected and actually follow the path of “Ida” Unfortunately there are not a lot of hurricane holes between here and Mobile Bay, and they are filling up fast with lots of boats heading south. Oh well, it will come to closure in a few days, just be patient and wait it out inland. So at least we are sitting comfortably in a protected marina, in a slip, with wifi, power and water. However we have no cell phone signals.

Today I changed oil and filters in both engines. We had planned on staying (2) days in Demopolis in order to change oil but now with the oil change complete we may pass by Demopolis or stay one night only.

Also at the harbor with us is a 41’ PDQ catamaran, from Des Moines, IA and a Kady-Krogen and a 52’ Hatteras.

Tomorrow I think we will launch the dinghy and do a little back water exploring on the Tenn-Tom
