Early this morning Felix Marine installed a new VHF radio. While he was working on the bridge, we had breakfast and did a load of laundry. Around 11:00 we hopped on our bikes and had lunch at a Reese’s Restaurant. This is a very popular local restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating but since it was cold and windy we were lucky enough to find a table inside.
After lunch we stopped to visit our Safe Harbor neighbors, Luke and Jane at their condo right on the Gulf beach. Since Luke’s son Justin is getting married here tomorrow, they had a large group of friends and relatives. Luke was kind enough to loan us his car for a grocery run. The amount of food we bought would take us ten trips on our bikes. Luke & Jane, thank you so much for everything.
When we got back to the boat, our looper friends from Minnesota, Ross and Nancy Hiner on “Oddysea” had arrived at our harbor with their daughter Krista. It is a pleasure to see looper friends that we haven’t seen for a few weeks. Unfortunately for us they are moving on to Naples Tuesday morning and then on to Key West. We look forward to meeting up with them in Marathon in February.
Monday afternoon we went to Justin and Nicole’s reception on the Beach. Congratulation Justin and Nicole. We met many of Luke and Jane’s Florida friends as well as many friends from home including Gary and Claudia Greenleaf. What a small mid-west. We really had a great time, share lots of laughs and conversation. We rode our bicycles back to the boat and stopped by (S.O.B.) Smokin Oyster Brewery for a sandwich and live music before heading back to the boat. Fun Bar and good food.
