HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Let’s do a couple of days catch up. I will attempt the blog this New Years Day while Diann prepares breakfast. Seems like a fair trade off to me since I choose not to cook. Our extended stay in Ft Myers has been extremely fun and a great opportunity to connect with many friends. The weather has been absolutely beautiful.

Wed morning (12/30) I washed the boat after several days of salt air accumulation. Wednesday afternoon we had the pleasure of connecting with Terry and Sharon Hester. Terry was so kind to suffer the busy Ft Myers Beach traffic, driving to Moss Marine, picking us up and drive back to Terry and Sharon’s beautiful home in Ft Myers. The four of us had a wonderful time catching up on way too many days since our last visit. We enjoyed lots of laughs and just having a good time. We went to dinner at a very unique restaurant in Ft Myers on the river called Blue Coyote. It is a membership club, the atmosphere was spectacular, superb service and the food and wine were excellent. We had a pleasant surprise when we saw Don & Jackie Ruggles, Jackie’s daughter Jessica and husband Dan, and Mike & Corey Montgomery seated at a table adjacent to ours. What a fun afternoon and evening. Terry & Sharon, thank you for taking the time to make our visit a very special experience.

Thursday (12/31, New Years Eve) we connected with our long time friend from the Quad Cities, Patty McNeal and husband Terry. Diann & Patty built many years of friendship working and traveling together at the Travel Agency in Moline. Patty and Terry drove up from Naples to spend the afternoon with us on “Noah Genda”, visiting and re-establishing our long time friendship. Late afternoon we walked over to Mantanza Inn for a late lunch, dined outdoors overlooking Estero Bay. Was a nice fun way to spend New Year’s Eve afternoon with good friends Patty and Terry.

After a very busy day, we found the energy to walk down to the City Pier, people watch the 1000’s of partiers, catch a view of the ball drop at midnight and the visual pleasure of a midnight spectacular fireworks display from the Pier. The crowd dissipated quickly after the fireworks as we walked back to the boat about 1:00 A.M. What a great day and night. Happy to spend it here in Ft Myers Beach.
