Well, it appears Ida has a mind of her own and decided to become more than a tropical storm. We are glad we waited where it is safe and we can get on and off the boat. We have access to a courtesy car which we have used a couple of times and will again this afternoon. The towns are very small but they do have food and hopefully a hardware store. We are topping off the fuel tank today, so when we leave here we could make it all the way to Mobile Bay without taking on additional fuel.
We had a couple more boats come into the harbor yesterday. Happy hour is held on someone’s boat every evening. We had them on our boat last night, actually it was late afternoon (4:00 until 6:00) since it gets dark so early. It's a given that everyone knows to bring their own beverage and snack. That makes it easy to have guests.
The couple next to us on a 41' PDQ catamaran went for a bike ride their first day here and as they came down a hill and hit the speed bumps she stopped to quickly and flew over the top of her handle bars. She did some major damage to her shoulder, Her husband said this morning they were leaving the boat and renting a car to drive home to Des Moines. You never know what the day will bring.
I have recruited Pam from Adagio to walk with me. We did a hilly 2.5 miles this morning.
